Important: MailChimp redesign coming soon. Here are the details.

MailChimp

An all-new MailChimp is coming June 17

We have a motto that hangs on the wall here at MailChimp: Listen Hard, Change Fast. We've been listening to you. We've spent countless hours visiting our customers and learning about how you work, and we've used that research to create a new and improved version of MailChimp. It's more efficient, more flexible, and makes for a more collaborative experience. We'll begin rolling it out on Monday, June 17, and we think you're going to love it.

We're excited to share it with you, but we know that change can be hard. Here's what to expect from New MailChimp:

Responsive design

We're introducing a responsive design that's been optimized for tablets, so you can get your work done from wherever you are.

Simplified navigation and subscriber profiles

Account notifications are now displayed in the navigation, so you won't miss out on any important info about your campaigns. Switch to Pro mode to simplify the layout, or collapse and expand menus on the iPhone to create more space when you need it. Search for subscriber details, campaigns, lists, and reports from anywhere in the app. We also made some big improvements to the layout and functionality of subscriber profiles. You can scroll horizontally to reveal all your fields and hide columns you don't need to see, leaving more room for the content that matters.

Comments inside the editor

We talked to a lot of our customers and learned that for most of you, email newsletters are a group effort. New MailChimp makes it easier for teams to collaborate. You can exchange feedback right inside the editor, view comments in real time, and respond whenever you're ready.
Check out our "New MailChimp" blog series to watch some video previews, read about our process, and learn more about what motivated us to redesign the app in the first place.

Starting next week, we'll prompt you to try New MailChimp when you log in to your account. It will be optional until July 15, so you can make the switch on your own terms. Like our normal updates, it will take a few days to become available for all users.

We hope you like what you see. And thanks for using MailChimp.

Motion Granted: MailChimp's Redesigned Legal Policies

We updated our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

MailChimp

Thanks for using MailChimp. We're writing to let you know that we've redesigned our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy to make them easier to read and understand. They're also much easier on the eyes now.

You may notice that we've added a few policies. Though very little has changed, we've moved our industry prohibitions, abuse restrictions, and spam rules into a separate document called the Acceptable Use Policy. And developers who use our API should check out the API Use Policy we added.

Our goal with this new content is to make our Terms clearer for you—not to make any changes to how we treat you. These policies reflect the same commitment to our customers' privacy and rights that MailChimp has always shown. You own your content, and we'll never sell your personal information or share it in a way that's not consistent with our Privacy Policy. That doesn't change.

Our general counsel describes this update in greater detail on the blog. And of course, we hope you'll take some time to read the policies themselves. These new Terms go into effect today, so next time you use MailChimp, you'll be doing so under the new Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

If you have any questions, concerns, or feedback about our policies, feel free to contact our legal team at legal@mailchimp.com

MailChimp v8 coming: Multi-user access controls

Multi-user access controls going live on the 18th.

MailChimp
If all goes as planned, we'll be launching MailChimp v8 this Monday, February 18. It's got some big, beefy changes that we need to tell you about before we go live...

Multi-user Accounts & Permissions

Multi-user accounts and permissions are coming to MailChimp (yes, finally). So you'll be able to invite different users to your MailChimp account and specify different levels of access for them, and each gets their own username and password. There will be four different accounts with different roles and permissions.
Details about v8

Important Ramifications

You know something important's going on when we use the word "ramifications." If you use Account Keys, the MailChimp API, or if you use an integration that uses the MailChimp API, you need to read this:
  1. We're phasing out the Account Keys feature. If you've issued Account Keys, they'll all be converted into Admin-level users. If you have any Account Keys that aren't in use, you can sign in to MailChimp now and revoke them. Or, just wait till we launch and adjust their accounts down from Admin level.
  2. The MailChimp API is not yet built to support multi-user accounts. We're working on that now. The API will work fine (there won't be any disruption) but there isn't any permissions granularity in the API yet.
  3. So that means integrations that use the API (or our mobile apps) will only work if you sign in as an Admin-level or Manager-level user.
If you're reading this email and saying, "What's an Account Key, and what's an integration that uses an API?" please forward this to the person that actively manages your organization's MailChimp account. It's pretty important. Use the "ramifications" word in your subject line.

Thanks,

The MailChimp Team

Help Us Improve MailChimp in 2013

Hey, Nancy.

2012 was big for us here at MailChimp (our marketing team put together a spiffy annual report that reveals the details).

We released a lot of new stuff, and improved old mainstays: Holy cow, we've been busy!

But we've got more new stuff in the works for MailChimp in 2013. We want to make sure we're addressing the things that're most important to you. Could you take a few minutes to answer some questions that'll help shape MailChimp's direction in 2013?
Take the Survey

(takes about 8 minutes and we'll love you for it)
Thanks in advance for your time. We think you're going to like what we're up to in 2013.
